The Real Mom Meme, tag courtesy of Venessa.
Real Moms are simply women with children.
Real Moms resent when people treat them as a third gender instead of as women with children.
Real Moms can admit that they’re winging it a lot of the time.
Because Real Moms can admit that they don’t always have the answers, Real Moms don’t need to judge other moms for their parenting choices.
Real Moms do the best they can, love their children fiercely, would do some things differently if they could, and most of all, Real Moms are constantly learning as they teach their children.

I think about everybody has done this, but if you haven’t, please feel free.

I like the 3rd gender thing you point out. I like it how when people find out you are a mom, they say “ohh…. so what kind of laundry detergent do you use” and I’m like “uh, I’d really rather talk about feminist theory or Tolstoy, but thanks for infantalizing me…” Like we lose our intelligence and individuality when we have kids! Nice picture, too, you are stunning!
I love that skirt.
Sometimes I like the duality of being a mother, other times, not so much. I find myself always wanting to yell “I’m a grown up too! I have kids even!”
