check it out! this is what I’ve been doing this weekend:
I cleaned off the granite:
before!
After!
I mostly got my nightstand under control:
I accidentally deleted the before picture but trust me, it was heinous and involved everything from Gautier perfume to a rubber squid.
Dresser? Check!
before
after
and tackled 3 of my four junk drawers:

and from those drawers, I ended up with:
A shopping bag full of paper to be torn up for the worms!
It seemed like so much more work before I started. Two of the junk drawers were boxed up, moved, and then unpacked back into the drawers. This means I’m coming to the heavy-duty decluttering, though–closets. It will be good to have it done though!

Great pictorial! It looks like it would be more relaxing in those areas now.
Wheee! You have such a pretty house!
I cleaned the living room yesterday and just keep *looking* at it now. The floor is so shiny when you actually clean it….
Good lord – was that a cassette tape??!!?
Great job! Tak a deep breath and enjoy it
Jumped over from reading chile’s post on decluttering. Feels so good, don’t it! If only it’s stay that way. It’s a continuous battle at my house and there’s only my daughter and I. My excuse is that I’m a teacher so I’ll find a way to reuse ANYTHING once I take it to school. Works sometimes, but I’m getting better. Now that spring has sprung in Southern Ontario I am getting the “toss it” bug.
If only the rest of the place was as calm
Thanks, guys. I’m quite pleased with myself! So far I’ve managed to keep anything from staying on any of the surfaces I’ve decluttered, which unfortunately means that my coffee table has gone to shit.
Cori–there were several cassettes, actually! We live in the past as much as possible
